About: Cascades is The Bush School’s signature Upper School program, providing three-week immersive experiences that allow Upper School students the opportunity to challenge their thinking, ignite their passion for exploration, and deepen the awareness of their connection to the larger community.
The first Cascade was held in January 2020, right before schools shut down for COVID-19. Initially it was conceived as a twice-a-year program, January and May, but we scaled it back to once-a-year so it didn’t take away too much from students’ other classes. The goal, however, has remained the same - to provide an experiential, interdisciplinary, and immersive opportunity that allows Upper School students to try something unique and different that they don’t get in their daily classes.
