Welcome to The Bush School! Thank you for considering Bush for your child. We look forward to the opportunity to work with your family as you look for the right home for your child to learn, grow, and thrive as a student. We take this responsibility seriously, and are excited to be able to share with you information about our dynamic programs, committed faculty, and unique mission. Students are active participants in their own education. Bush’s emphasis on experiential learning means students are collaborating with one another, engaging with the curriculum, and sharing their observations. Bush students not only gain a deep understanding of content but are empowered to apply their skills and knowledge in real-world situations while exploring and interacting with other perspectives and contexts. Bush students are empowered to Blaze Trails - to ask bold questions, think critically, and generate new ideas.

At Bush, lessons, ideas, and instruction are crafted by diverse perspectives and experiences meant to stretch our students' view of the world. We believe in teaching students how to think, not what to think. Through perspective-sharing and concerted, holistic, ongoing efforts, we work to create a community of belonging that values every individual and every voice. Our curriculum reflects a commitment to providing our students with multiple perspectives and a range of world views that enliven and promote learning.

There are many ways to learn and to lead. At Bush, we challenge our students to be agile thinkers, to think differently, and be willing to change their minds. With a spirit of open mindedness, Blazers listen to understand and think critically about their own opinions and other perspectives. With confidence and curiosity, being a Blazer is to take an explorative approach to learning, to become the thinkers, doers, and leaders who are willing to think critically, reflect, adjust their lens, and challenge what is known.
A Community Connected CULTIVATING COMMUNITY
Uniquely positioned as a K–12 school on one campus, Bush community members interact with a greater variety of perspectives and lived experiences on a daily basis. Students gain a deep understanding for their evolving and important roles within a community—from the youngest learners looking ahead to what’s next, to experienced intellectual explorers setting the standard for their younger peers.
Our Methow Campus CONNECTION TO PLACE
At Bush, we look to instill the importance of connection to the world around us. Our 20-acre Methow Campus is a home away from home for our community. The immersive experiences removed from the hustle and bustle of Seattle provides students opportunities to explore the interdependence between community, environment, and self.
