Rainier Scholars

Community Partners

The Bush School has been proud to partner with Rainier Scholars as the home of their summer academic enrichment program for over fifteen years. Each year The Bush School also welcomes new cohorts of Scholars to Sixth and Ninth Grade through the admissions process.

As thriving members of the Bush community, over fifty Scholars have made a positive impact on our school and the greater community over the past two decades. The Bush admissions team works with students enrolled in Rainier Scholars who are also interested in applying to Bush. This webpage is designed to provide information for these Scholars and their families during the application process. We look forward to working with you in the upcoming admissions season.

Head of School Percy L. Abram

We are committed to ensuring the relationship between Rainier Scholars and Bush grows well into the future. As educational organizations, we are stronger together. We will continue to seek new opportunities to partner together in the form of teacher collaboratives, student exchanges, and parent education.

  • Transportation to Bush

Bush students live across the greater Seattle area. While most students live in the Seattle city limits, Mercer Island, or the inner Eastside, students travel to Bush from nearly sixty different zip codes each year.

The Bush School launched a school-sponsored bus service at the beginning of the 2023-2024 school year. The School partners with Zūm Transportation Services to provide bus transportation for K-12 students to and from campus.

Bush currently offers four bus routes: one on the Eastside that starts in Redmond and travels across the I-90 bridge, and one from South Seattle that begins near Renton and travels north. New for the 2024-2025 academic year, Bush is pleased to offer a North Seattle Route that will directly service the Greenwood, Wedgwood, Ravenna, and University District neighborhoods and be a good option for families in the Ballard, Phinney Ridge, Wallingford, Green Lake, and Laurelhurst communities. Bush's fourth route will service Magnolia/Queen Anne, as a good option for Magnolia, Interbay, and North and South Queen Anne.
