Blazers Boys Cross Country Team Claims ESC Title
Coming off a season that featured the first boys state title in program history, the Bush Boys Cross Country team picked right up where they left off last postseason. Saturday morning at Granite Falls High School, the Blazers tallied 72 points to win the Emerald Sound Conference.
“The Bush Cross Country team has been working hard over the past year to keep reaching new heights. The team continues to inspire each other, set new goals, chase down PRs and that results in amazing finishes like today,” Bush Associate Athletic Director Mel Harrow said. “The remainder of the postseason will be an exciting one!”
The Blazers were led by standout junior Duncan F-S. ’25 as he covered the 5,000-meter course in a time of 16 minutes, 30.4 seconds. Teammate Benjamin H. ’25 was the next top Blazer, placing tenth overall (16:52.9). Bush placed four runners in the top 20 and all six finished in the top 26.
Williams Reeves of Eastside Prep won the race in 15:54.8, while Cedar Park Christian of Bothell was second with 79 points.
In the girls race, Bush placed sixth overall with 131 points. Seattle Academy won the ESC title with 65 points. Isabelle O ’27 was the top finisher for the Blazers capturing thirteenth (21:19.9).
Next up for the Bush Boys Cross Country team will be the District 2 1A Championship on Saturday, October 28 at South Whidbey.
