Bush XC Boys, Girls Place 2nd at Emerald Sound Conference Championships

The road to the state championships started off on a strong note for The Bush School Cross Country teams.

On Saturday, October 26 at the Emerald Sound Conference Cross Country Championships, held at Granite Falls High School, both the boys and girls finished in second place as a team in the varsity races.

After finishing in sixth place a year ago, the girls displayed a year of growth and experience scoring 65 points to capture runner-up honors. Elise F. '25 paced the team with a second-place finish in a time of 19 minutes, 46 seconds, nearly two minutes faster than last year. The Blazers placed four runners in the top 20. Cedar Park Christian took top honors with 37 points as King’s Sophia Inglis won the race in 19:22.

In the boys race, it was a tight battle for the team title as Cedar Park Christian just edged out Bush, 45-39 for the conference title. Duncan F.-S. '25 led the way for the Blazers placing second in 16:11.3. Teammates Lincoln N. '25 (16:20.3) and Benjamin H. '25 (16:21.5) captured sixth and seventh place, respectfully.
