Family STEAM Nights Really Float My Boat: Explorations in Buoyancy - Thursday, February 13

Family STEAM Night: Explorations in Buoyancy
Date: Thursday, February 13
Time:  6:00-7:30 p.m.
Location: Bush School Library

All aboard for explorations in buoyancy! For our second STEAM night of the year, students will build boats using common materials such as tin foil, straws, and popsicle sticks.  Students will learn about the concept of buoyancy, displacement, and density by experimenting with materials and shape to create a boat that not only floats, but can support the mass of passengers. Our boat builders will also be able to customize their creation with art materials, bringing their artistic vision to life. Activities will be geared toward a Second through Fifth Grade audience, however younger scientists may attend with the support of a parent.
