Bush Boys Soccer Claims Third ESC Crown

The third time was truly a charm for the Bush Boys Soccer team, as they defeated Seattle Academy, 4-1 in the Emerald Sound Conference Championship on Friday, May 10. This is the third time in four years that Bush has won the conference championship. The Blazers were led by an impressive quad by midfielder Xavi D ’25. Xavi scored two goals in the first half and then followed it up with two more in the second. Seattle Academy scored a late goal to make the final 4-1. Isaac A. ’24 assisted on the first goal for Bush.

In addition to Xavi’s brilliant playmaking, the Bush team was led by a pair of solid performances from Lake B. ’24 and Asher Z ’24, who controlled the defense and midfield for much of the game. Ultimately, Seattle Academy could not respond to the Blazer’s onslaught.

“Congratulations to the team, they peaked at the right time,” Bush Athletic Director Jo Ito said. “A big congratulations to the senior class for leading this team and to the coaching staff for all their efforts.”

The team, seeded #8, opens up the 1A WIAA State Tournament on Friday, May 17 against Highland at the Apple Bowl in Wenatchee at 6:00 p.m.
